1.  My first Idea is one that I have not understood why is has not been generally available.  Manual transmissions are more efficient, but not as easy to use.  So, we could easily take a standard manual transmission and add on control systems to make it fully automatic and smooth.  I had been talking about this idea for many years to many people.
