The Good Life is recovery from Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Now we are to the symptom of "Exploitation of others to achieve personal goals."  Some degree of this symptom is found in most of our hierarchical society.  This symptom is found in families, work, churches, military, politics and so on and on.  The real question is the degree of the exploitation.  Is it a win win for everyone involved.  When it is not a win win for everyone involved, it is a degree of this symptom.

So, start making everything a win win as much as you can.  Start thinking of everyone as an equal spiritually at their deepest core and your core.

I have been thinking that, they can take a Marine out of the Corps [core], but they can not take the core out of the Marine.   One of the times in my past when I experienced my core was when I stood up to my Drill Instructors.  That was when I had decided I was just there to fulfill my military obligation at that time, but it was not to be a paid professional killer, a Marine.  I was ready to be a core man, a Corpsman, that would bind up the wounds of both sides.  So, when my DI asked me why I was there, I shouted so that the whole parade ground could hear that I was there to fulfill my military obligation.  The correct answer was to say "Sir, to be a Marine, Sir."  But, they quit asking me questions, because they had provoked my core.  That may have been exactly what boot camp was really about and why you can get out of the Corps, but you can not get out of your core.

The next symptom is "Lack of empathy".  Although anyone can con themselves to appear empathic, you know, like politicians at every level.  That includes us.

Empathy does not mean sympathy.  Empathy means to be able to put yourself in their place, but to not get stuck there, like with sympathy.  Lack of empathy, is when we have lost contact with our compassionate core.  Lack of empathy is when we have lost contact with our spirit.  Lack of empathy is when we have lost contact with our feelings.  Lack of empathy is like when we could send people to war as an aggressor and still be at peace and sleep soundly.

So, the challenge is to get back in contact with our compassion, our spirit, and our feelings.

The next symptom is "Frequent envy of others or belief that others envy them".  Who does not have "some" symptoms of envy or belief the others envy them?  The problem is worse, when it is frequent.  Recovery is about making envy less frequent and less of a symptom.

What symptom help to heal envy?  The symptom of spiritual equality.  All of the hints in over 900 pages here are how to find spiritual equality.

The next symptom for egotism, NPD, is: "Arrogance or haughtiness in attitude or behavior.  [Although they can con themselves to appear the most humble.]"

Arrogance.  A smirk.  Seeing a smirk in others and being upset.  Arrogance is about inaccuracy, about not seeing reality.  Arrogance is not seeing everyone as equal.  Arrogance is judging others with any upset.  Arrogance is not accepting yourself and or others as they are.

Good is not arrogant.  Good accepts all as they are.  Good judges everyone as innocent and doing the best that they can with what they know and do not know that they do not know.  Good sees everyone as spiritually equal.  Good sees past the acting as humble or even thinking we are humble and still sees us as equal.

Recovery is about seeing as Good sees, a radical difference from what we are taught to see.

The Good Life is recovery from Narcissistic Personality Disorder [NPD].

NPD is the fundamental spiritual challenge.  NPD is egoism.  NPD is the EGO, that is the process of Edging God Out.  The solution is EGI, Edging God In.

Respectfully presented,

Michael

A daily hint has published each day since June 1996.  This is past my fifth year anniversary, since starting my web pages.  I started my daily page, because it is useful for me to look for some recovery tip or secret each day for my spiritual growth. we and I only need one secret to work on and let it work on us each day.  They are secrets because they are usually the opposite of what the majority of society teaches.  They must be secret because they are not commonly used.  A friend of mine once said "Common Sense is not much in Common.".  Now that I have grandchildren I am also writing for them.  I would have really liked for my grandparents and my parents to have passed on more of what they learned.

What is happening now?

I now have completed my second copy of my two CDROM's, full of free programs, for my college class.  I am sending my current version, to anyone that sends me $7.
