Daily Steps On Our Road to Recovery for 22 to 26 November 1999.

Fear of the Lord?

The bible says that the beginning of wisdom is fear

of the Lord. Many people do not notice that the word

"beginning" is in there. So, when there is a beginning,

there is an end. The end of wisdom is love of the lord

most high within and without. The wisdom that is the

summary of the bible in both the old and new testaments,

is to love our lord most high within. How can we love

a fearful lord? We really can't. That would be insane.

That is why we have to find that we were the insane

fearful ones and the lord most high within is the loving

sane one.

Beginnings

I knew a Christian that was in the beginnings of wisdom.

They had fearful concepts of their Lord. They were afraid

of intimacy with their Lord. They were afraid of intimacy

with a close friend that knew some of the wisdom of the

lord most high within. They were afraid of intimacy with

a woman. They picked one to love that would not leave

their husband, more than one time. What they really feared

is that their lord was like their concept and that their lord

would abandon them like their mother and father abandoned

them. None of this was true. How would you tell them or

anyone else like them, that in a loving way?

Conspiracy

God has a conspiracy to commune with us. We live

and move and have our being in that which is God. So,

when we are ready to have spiritual eyes, ears, and

feelings, God opens up to us. It took me about 50 years

to be ready to receive the answers to the questions I

asked as a young teen. If I had my answers then, I

would have been bitter. Since I got my answers

when I was ready, I am grateful.

God had a conspiracy to return the people of Israel

to their promised land, several times. God had a conspiracy

to atone for Adam and Eve and thereby everyone, through

his child, Jesus. God has a conspiracy to get all of us to

accept and give that atonement to everyone.

Thanksgiving

There are thirty five quotes of "give thanks" in the KJ bible.

The one that is most relevant today is in 1Th 5:18 of "In

every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in

Christ Jesus concerning you." How can we give thanks

for all that negative stuff? Because it comes from our

negative stuff, conscious and unconscious. You know,

ask for a rock and you get a rock, ask for a fish and you

get a fish. From Luke 11:11 it says: "If a son shall ask

bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a

stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a

serpent?" Then Luke 11:13 goes on to drive the point

home with: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give

good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your

heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask

him?" So our solution is simple, give thanks for all

we have and experience and ask for the Holy Spirit

for our next things we have and experience.

Harmony

When we are in something like the military and

march together, we fall in step and in harmony. When

we are dancing in a couple we can fall into harmony.

When we are at a sports event and the crowd is doing

the wave we can fall into harmony. We can become

part of something greater. One challenge is to remain

who we are.

When we are meditating we can also become

part of something far greater. Then it is not such a

challenge to remain who we are. Because who we

are is a part of that vast greater that is still an

individual. That is another paradox to enjoy.

I started my daily page, because it is useful for me to look for some recovery tip or secret each day for my spiritual growth. we and I only need one secret to work on and let it work on me each day. They are secrets because they are usually the opposite of what the majority of society teaches. They must be secret because they are not commonly used. A friend of mine once said "Common Sense is not much in Common.". Now that I have grandchildren I am also writing for them. I would have really liked for my grandparents to have passed on what they learned.
