Daily Steps On Our Road to Recovery for 28 February to 3 March 2000.
Published Last Week. A daily hint published each day since June 1996. This is past my third year anniversary since starting my web pages. Page Down for the next days that are added a day at a time. I have moved to http://www.recoverybydiscovery.com and this daily page is now here at daily.htm . I would appreciate any feedback, questions and suggestions that you have.

Why does blaming others not make sense?
Because the one thing that is in common is ourselves. No matter what
we may think caused our problem, our problem always comes back to
ourselves. I just completed throwing up a couple days of food and a slight
temperature. I guess a form of the flu or some bad food. I am responsible
for where I went and where I ate. I was the one with the subconscious need
to go through this challenge and also to go where I could trigger "it". My need
for "it" was somewhere in my mind, body and or spirit. I was just not aware
of "it" until "it" happened. I may have triggered it by eating too much for a couple
of days. I may have been around someone who reminded me of my need to
experience "it". I even may have needed to find someone with the reminder of
a different strain of flu than was in my flu shot. Even, no matter what spirit may
tell me that the cause of "it" is, my wiser response is to forgive myself and anyone
else involved. There is only one answer to our challenges. Forgive and move on
to something better.

What is special about today?
This is my first anniversary of completing my first career. I leapt out of that on
the 29th of February 1996. I am also taking a leap of faith by creating a quiz
on abortion that could bring the sides together. I say could, because anyone
taking the abortion quiz has to take it with an open mind to pass the quiz.

What had I noticed before about some people caught up in the abortion issue?
First, that they are on the black and white ends of a grey spectrum that goes from
black to white. Second, that the black and white and grey have things in common.
Third, some of the positions did not seem to be consistent with their other positions.
You might be interested in looking at any issue that you and or others are upset
about and see when "First, Second and Third" above apply.

What were other clues to inconsistencies?
People I knew that were anti abortion and claiming pro life, were often pro
death penalties. They were often for less welfare and yet stopping abortion was
likely to increase welfare. Well, what about the other extreme, pro choice? Were
they supportive of giving choice to those against them? How pro choice were they?
What is wrong with pro life and pro choice? Then the question becomes one
of how to make life and choice better for all concerned. Sometimes it helps to ask
the following question: What would be wiser to do, when it is our children involved?
What would you do with the abortion issue, when it is your children? In a way it is.
3 March 1999
What way would it be wise to look at any issue?
As if it was our loved children involved! That is how God looks at any issue.
Of course, we have the free will to not let God help and or advise or to show
His love. But He has longer than we do. He can outwait us. In infinite time there
is time enough to wound all heals and to heal all wounds. Even parents sometimes
have to let consequences of actions and thinking happen for their children to learn
better ways to act and think.

I started my daily page, because it is useful for me to look for some recovery tip or secret each day for my spiritual growth. we and I only need one secret to work on and let it work on me each day. They are secrets because they are usually the opposite of what the majority of society teaches. They must be secret because they are not commonly used. A friend of mine once said "Common Sense is not much in Common.". Now that I have grandchildren I am also writing for them. I would have really liked for my grandparents to have passed on what they learned.
